Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, and Gemini CLI each have different pricing models — usage-based, seat-based, or both — and no vendor has any incentive to help you compare. This is the independent benchmark.

About the data

ANONYMIZED & AGGREGATED

This report draws on aggregate, anonymized usage data from VantageAI early access customers, supplemented by public pricing data and published industry research. All individual organization data is anonymized before inclusion. No company names or individual developer data appear in the report.

Pricing data is sourced directly from vendor public pricing pages as of April 2026. Where pricing has multiple tiers, we document each tier and note the conditions for each. Observations labeled as such are derived from qualitative signals from onboarding conversations and product usage patterns — they are not formal survey results.

The ROI framework in Chapter 3 is a methodology we developed; the benchmarks within it represent estimates based on available data, clearly labeled with their confidence level and data source.
